Summer Trails Camp

“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”

With new and exciting field trips, each day, within Summit County and in the surrounding areas, Summer Trails not only teaches the children independence and confidence about their physical abilities but also about the history, geography, ecology, and the community. The camp is arranged into the different themes below, giving the children plenty of time to play, explore, and create new adventures.

Our Ecology Unit: will focus on nature and the environment. The students will learn about the relationships between living organisms and their surroundings as well as different ecosystems, hiking on local trails, doing “summer science” with FDRD (Friends of the Dillion Ranger District), and more!

Our History Unit: Will focus on Colorado mining and pioneering that dates back nearly 13,000 years. They will enjoy visiting places like The Betty Ford Museum, The Country Boy Mine, and The Edwin Carter Museum!

Our Community Unit: Will focus on our volunteers, helpers, and what’s around us, visiting the Fire Station, Police Station, and Jail! There will also be a Summer Fun Week, where we will do nothing but PLAY at places like Frisco Marina, Peak 8 Fun Park, and Eclipse Theater!

WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR?! It’s the perfect solution to your child’s summer schedule before they head to Kindergarten!
