Each of our classrooms focuses on the individual child and encourages independence. We have 6 different classrooms, all named after a furry mountain animal and carefully and thoughtfully designed to resemble a comfortable home-like environment where the children feel nurtured, safe, and at ease. Although the rooms are primarily divided based on age, we not only look at the age of the child, but also we spend numerous days and hours observing and following each child to determine his/her physical, language, social/emotional, and cognitive development before moving them to a new class. Between birth and age 6, children go through several “sensitive” periods, during which time they are able to develop and refine certain skills with ease, exactness, and joy. A child under 6 is said to possess an “absorbent mind”. Children can absorb virtually anything.
