Brown Bears: Roughly 3 years to 4 years
The preschool environment unifies the psycho-social, physical, and academic functioning of the child. Its important task is to provide students with an early and general foundation that includes a positive attitude toward school, inner security and a sense of order, pride in the physical environment, abiding curiosity, a habit of concentration, habits of initiative and persistence, the ability to make decisions, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility to other members of the class, school, and community. Here, the essential groundwork is laid for the children before entering into Pre-Kindergarten. Brain research tells us that the more senses a child uses when learning something, the more thoroughly they will come to own that concept or skill. Also by allowing the children to participate in making something, they are not only learning new skills in an area such as Math or Language, but they are also gaining an understanding of a “process”, cause and effect as well as the practical skill – not only the process of making bread, but also each minute part of the process! In this environment, we carefully choose many multi-sensory materials to encourage and facilitate your child’s exciting learning process.
